Philosophy

The philosophy of the Presentation School is to build community and reach out to the world in service through education. We also strive build a strong spiritual foundation while embracing the diversity of faiths that is represented at our school.

The entire faculty and staff are bound by common goals and aspirations, laying a foundation for a lifetime of achievement. Students here find an environment where academic achievement is valued and each child's individual interests are encouraged and rewarded.

We believe that school becomes an extension of each child's family; a small school with small class sizes translates into an ability for each teacher to develop insights that enhance the entire learning process for every student. Presentation provides a safe environment in which your child can explore ideas and feelings and you can be sure that your child will not be lost in the shuffle.

Choices, small classes, individual attention, close student-teacher relationships, ability to participate in interest areas, consistent and fair practices - these elements all work together to create happy students. Learning takes place when the learner is happy, feels trusted and knows that his or her school community appreciates their efforts.

The educational staff at Presentation School commits themselves to:

  • the spiritual development of all faiths
  • tradition and thoughtful change
  • foundational emphasis on faith-building
  • a viable sacramental program
  • an educational community modeled on the best example: The Holy Family
  • the good of all through service
  • a partnership with all members of the school community
  • an authentic integrated curriculum open to change
  • a curricula focus on real-world and real-life experiences
  • emphasis on core subjects, cultural literacy, fine arts and sports
  • the spiritual, academic and physical growth of each student
  • an appreciation of diversity
  • vibrancy and vitality in our curricula
  • sensitivity to individual needs
