Fundraising is the cornerstone of independent school financing.
It is our school’s way of working to contain tuition increases
while providing the best possible program for our students.
Through strong parental involvement, we are able to provide
one of the most reasonable tuition programs for a private school
education in the Bay Area.
Each year, Presentation School’s Development Office and
School Administration ask our community to support our school
in a variety of ways. We hope each family will consider its
capacity to support Presentation’s fundraising over the
course of their years and apportion that support among the opportunities
available. While this is a brief overview, there are many opportunities
during the year to learn about each of these activities.
Art and Wine Auction – October 6, 2007
Chairperson: Lisa Cavalli
This fall dinner and auction event highlights great art and
wine lots. Lisa
will appreciate your help procuring auction items for this
kick-off fundraiser of the year.
Holiday Home Tour and Luncheon – December 14,
2007
Chairperson: Elaine St. Jean
Our annual holiday home tour features a tour of beautiful Sonoma
residences, followed by a luncheon at the Sebastiani Winery.
Silent auction and a holiday boutique round out the day’s
activities.
Therese encourages your assistance before the day and at the
event. We need to provide a luxury experience for our guests,
from the moment they arrive and check-in to their departure
after a day of touring homes, shopping in our boutique and enjoying
a gourmet luncheon.
Day at the Opera
This is an opportunity for children
and adults to enjoy the finest afternoon of music. The event
helps
support our on-going performing arts and applied arts programs
for our students.
Presentation Golf Tournament – May 5, 2008
Chairs: David Grieve
This event, held this year at the Sonoma Golf Club, is a major
source of income for our operational budget. The golf tournament
includes a dinner and auction – last year raising over
$25,000 through 100 golfers.
Each year there are additional fundraising opportunities.
Families make special gifts in honor of a loved one, a Presentation
graduate,
a family member celebrating a special occasion. These gifts
go directly to our scholarship fund. The school community
also
participates in eScrip, which channels a percentage of funds
spent at retail stores directly back to Presentation.
Occasionally, we have other special funding opportunities that
are announced more broadly to the school’s community.
In addition, the school parents of each grade sponsor activities
to help build community spirit and school wide energy.
