What We Offer

Kindergarten through 8th Grade College Preparatory Education
The students at the Presentation School receive a thorough college preparatory education that focuses on building skills in core subject matter as well as in the arts and foreign language. Spanish and Science are taught from Kindergarten through the Eighth Grade. To learn more about our academic program and view our most recent Stanford 9 test scores, please click here.

Strong, Innovative Curriculum
For academically focused families in Sonoma and southern Napa counties, The Presentation School provides children in grades K-8 the best in education for their minds as well as their spirits.

Small Class Size
The policy with rare exceptions, is twenty students per grade from Kindergarten through fifth grade, The Trustees approved, in April 2001, an increase in size for sixth-eighth grades to gradually increase to twenty-five students. The teacher ratio (including full and part-time staff members) equates to 11:1 for the current school year.

Nurturing, Spiritual Environment
The Presentation School provides a caring, safe and nurturing environment for our students. Teachers and staff are available to the students before and after school, conferences are held regularly with each student and affirmation of student successes and interests in on-going. The entire faculty and staff encourages the development of life-long learners who can grow to their fullest potential while pursuing a spiritual life.

Celebration of Accomplishment
Whether our students participate in in-school or outside of school activities, the children at the Presentation School are affirmed in their special talents. Quarterly academic assemblies, weekly guidance assemblies, bi-monthly showcases, special theme days and exciting and unexpected "treats" are a few of the ways that we celebrate our students.

Middle School Sports League
Co-Ed Volleyball (7th and 8th) - Fall
Boys Basketball (7th and 8th) Nov-Feb
Girls Basketball (7th and 8th) Feb-April
Track Meet (5th-8th) May

Challenging Off-Site Learning Experiences
All grade levels benefit from targeted educational field experience, an integral part of each grade level's curriculum.

Performing Arts & Applied Arts Programs
The arts are applied to all levels of the curricula. Special emphasis on musical theatre creates many opportunities for student performance for large audiences. Our bi-monthly Showcase is designed to provide time for students to share what they have learned or created with their schoolmates. These Showcases, held on Fridays at 9:00am, are open to the community, as well as to existing and prospective parents. Our applied arts program includes the study of art history at every grade level, beginning with Giotto and ending with modern artists. Students study the history and style of three artists each school year. Our May art show publishes the student art work from this program, as well as from the other areas of the art curriculum.

Community Outreach

Throughout every school year, the entire student body comes together to help people in need. These efforts range from fundraising to purchase new boats for fishermen affected by the tsunami in Sri Lanka to coordinating a toothbrush drive for victims of Hurricane Katrina and raising funds for UNICEF.

Tutoring Program
Students in need of extra help in a particular skill receive regular tutoring. The after school program provides homework assistance; the teachers and administrators help students during break times and study halls so that student needs are met immediately. Within each subject area, teachers instruct the children in the new skill enough times and in enough modalities so that learning and mastery take place.

Hot Lunch
We offer a choice of hot lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of each week.

Kinder Care
Our kindergarten program officially ends at 12:30 daily. From 12:30-3:15, we do offer parents the option of having their kinder remain at school for lunch, arts and crafts, rest time, and play. There is no additional cost for this option; however, this does afford the parents the choice of a half-day and/or a longer day kindergarten for their child.

Children’s Center
After school care is provided by our qualified staff from 3:15-5:30 daily. The program includes play, snack, homework time, and games. This program is open to all students; the fee is $4.50 per hour.

Tuition Assistance
The Presentation School is committed to providing financial aid to qualified students and families. Approximately 14% of our student body receives some level of financial support. We do not discriminate against any student based upon ability to provide tuition.
